Komodo Over Sea Tour 3D/2N

Komodo, Rinca, and Padar Island are the main islands of Komodo National Park. Famous for some of the world’s best dive sites and their popular inhabitant – the Komodo dragon – the area attracts thousands of tourists each year.
Komodo Island is the most visited place in Flores. Rinca, a smaller island where the Komodo dragons can also be found, is a good alternative to crowded Komodo Island.

Despite the invasion of tourists, you can still find some quiet and remote areas on these islands, particularly on Rinca and Padar. The islands’ interiors consist mostly of dry forests, where you can also encounter other animals than the Komodo dragon: water buffaloes, birds, pigs, and deer. The islands also offer unique beaches and good options for trekking.

Trekking on Komodo and Rinca Island

On Komodo, you can choose between different trekking routes, depending on your time and physical condition. All of them start from the ticket office at Loh Liang. A short trek takes around one hour and goes along flat trails within the dry forest. This option is suitable for visitors who do not have much time, for families with small children, or for people who prefer a relaxed and non-strenuous hike. The medium trek takes about 1 1/2 hours. It passes a waterhole where the Timor deer and wild pigs often come to drink. Sometimes, dragons can be found there lying around and waiting. You will climb Sulphurea Hill and Frigate Hill, where a magnificent view across the islands, bays and beaches awaits. The longer trek takes about 2 1/2 hours and leads you up another hill. You will pass the location where Komodo dragons used to be fed in front of enthralled tourist crowds. If you are up to a real workout, you may book a 4 – 8 hour hike in advance which will lead you up Mount Ara or to the island’s northern shore.

Komodo National Park, Flores, NTT, Indonesia.

Treks on Rinca Island start from the ticket office at Loh Buaya. You also have the option to choose between three trails. The shortest trek takes 30 minutes. It is an easy, shaded walk that passes an artificial waterhole before ascending to a small hill with a view over the bay. The one-hour medium trek winds between dragon nests and out into the sunshine across an exposed savannah that is studded with lontar palms. For the best opportunity to see dragons and their prey, choose the two-hour trek past a permanent waterhole and across steep, exposed slopes that offer breathtaking views.

Kalong Island

Visit this small island in the afternoon and that was right time to visit, because the flying foxes came out int he afternoon. When its time, we saw spectacular view with thousands of bats above our head and sunset. it was interested place to visit and also overnight on boat.

Padar Island

Padar Island is a remote and wild island located in the middle of the straight between Rinca Island and Komodo Island. Defended by strong currents and swell coming from the nearby Indian ocean, going to Padar Island is an adventure in itself. Hello Flores team like to call it “Neverland” and will understand why once you will be there! Steep and dry hills, cliffs falling straight into the ocean, sea eagles flying around, gigantic bays with crystal waters and many unknown pink-sand beaches are what give this place a truly unique atmosphere. A one-hour trek to the top of Padar Kecil will bring you to a breathtaking panorama overlooking Komodo National Park. Sunrise and sunset times are the best times of the day to do the trekking with endless changing color in the sky.

Pink Beach
Padar Island features a natural phenomenon that you should not miss: a pink beach. This peculiar beach gets its color from red coral fragments. It is definitely a great place to spend some time by just laying back or enjoying the underwater world with your snorkeling equipment.
Another pink beach smaller in size can be found on Komodo Island as well. The shallow reef begins just in front of the beach. Being deep enough to snorkel at low tide and not too deep at high tide, it is one of the best snorkeling spots in the park.

Komodo Excursion 4D/3N

Although I am glad I went to see them, I mean, I couldn’t not go and visit them as we were so close, I can’t help but feel underwhelmed and disappointed. I honestly thought it would be a much more natural encounter and more like a safari but, as with most tourist attractions in parts of the world, to increase the chances of seeing these wild animals and to keep the lucrative business going, man has stepped in.

I have since read a few reviews of tours to see the dragons and people have said they found them around a water hole or on a beach so that may possibly be in Komodo Island and not Rinca Island. Read the reviews here on Trip Advisor, some of these experiences sound a lot more authentic. It is true that with all “wild” encounters, there is an element of hit or miss, and although we did see the dragons, it didn’t feel “wild” hence the sense of being underwhelmed.

In truth, if I were faced with the decision whether or not to visit them knowing what I know now, I would definitely still go, but I would choose a company that offered a more natural way of finding them and I would try to see them in Komodo and not Rinca. They are worth seeing, after all, they are Komodo Dragons!

Kalong Island is a small beautiful island in Komodo National Park with mangrove plantations cover the island where thousands of bats living. Furthermore, the name of this island is coming from the local word that Kalong means bat. It is because of the island dwelt by thousands of bats and keeps secret by local people. This island presents the exotic attraction of bat flying over the island in particular sunset time. Therefore, it is one of the favorite tourist attractions in this national park that you never miss when joining balitourisland.com. The trips are also discovery the biggest lizards in the world, Komodo Dragons that living in this park too.

What makes a pink sand beach—a million pieces of shattered coral? A trick of the eye and the light? On Harbour Island in the Bahamas—one of the most famous beaches pictured here—the pink hue comes from foraminifera, a microscopic organism that actually has a reddish-pink shell, while the sand is a mix of coral, shells, and calcium carbonate. It sounds like a science project, but in truth, it's one of the most magical things we've seen. Here, nine places around the world with some of the most beautiful pink sand.

Manta Point in Komodo – some snorkeling spots in Indonesia offer many experiences to see giant Manta ray, like at the manta point around Komodo Island. There, tourist can be freely swum together with this amazing creature. You will see so many manta rays play on the sea surface on this Manta Point in Komodo. If you wanted to swim together with them, you can snorkel at this manta point. With this way, you will be able to watch many manta rays even from close distance. For giving more experience, you can bring your underwater camera to capture the moment when you were swimming together with Manta ray.
